How to Make Your Curls Last

by Chief Educator Claire

Ensuring our wash day lasts and our curls are on point is a curly priority!

When our social calendars fill, we all start doing wash day math (if you know, you know!) and want to get the most out of our curls!

These three steps can help keep your curls locked in and party-ready!💃

LEAVE YOUR CONDITION IN

Consider leaving your conditioner in instead of fully rinsing it out. Leaving a small amount in from mid-length to ends is a serious game changer! This helps prevent unwanted frizz and makes curl formation easier, meaning curl longevity.

PLOP TO PRESERVE

Once you’ve applied your products to soaking-wet hair, plop! Wrapping the hair draws out excess water but leaves in much-needed moisture, enabling it to dry faster, locking in those curl clumps and minimizing frizz.

📌Curly Tip: Before diffusing or continuing to air dry, take a small amount of Spiralicious Styling Gel (nickel - quarter size) and glaze over from mid-length to ends to ensure you have a good cast to protect and make your curls last.

KEEP THE CAST

A cast protects curls, so once it's broken, your hair is exposed to the elements. If you're a night washer, sleep in your cast with sleep protection, or if you prefer to wash just before you have to be somewhere, leave it as your last step before heading out the door.
