Product Description

Too Shea! Extra Moisturizing Conditioner is our medium weight conditioner for medium and thick (coarse) textured hair. It contains shea butter (hence the adorable name), jojoba oil, avocado oil, hydrolyzed oat protein and a lovely herbal blend that are all great for hair and scalp health.

Together they combine to make a thick, moisturizing conditioner that isn’t too heavy and not at all greasy. It makes your curls so soft you’ll have a hard time keeping your hands out of them (but do try – touching your curls too much is a no-no)! It can also be used as a leave-in for all day moisture or used as a deep conditioner for fine hair that is weighed down easily.

Fun Fact: Too Shea! is the kind of conditioner that people write poems about. No, really, someone actually did that a few years ago!

Jess Says

Apply to wet hair, comb through and rinse after 3-5 minutes. Follow with your favorite Jessicurl styling products. Too Shea! can also be left in for all day moisture on dry curls since all of our conditioners are dual-formulated as leave-ins. For fine hair that gets weighed down easily, use it as a deep conditioner to add lighter weight intense moisture.

Too Shea! Extra Moisturizing Conditioner FAQ

Answering All Your Conditioning Questions. Full FAQ Here.

My shampoo/conditioner are slightly different in color compared to my last bottle, is this normal?

Yes, it is completely normal and safe for use. Our batches can tend to have a slight variance in color due to the use of natural ingredients.

How to tell if I have protein overload?

One telltale sign that you're having a protein overload is that your hair will begin to feel easily tangled and drier than normal even when your hair is wet/has conditioner in it.

The best way to help with this is to first stop using products with protein for the time being and balance out the protein with moisturizing ingredients. We'd recommend conducting a Deep Conditioning Treatment/Hot Oil treatment. Additionally, cleanse with our Clarifying Shampoo, as this will help to clean your strands of any products or build up that could still be there, giving your hair a fresh slate! We always recommend adding a little bit of Leave-In conditioner as needed after clarifying to give yourself a nice moisture base, as clarifying is intended to remove excess oils from strands.

After you feel like your hair has balanced out, you can start to incorporate protein back into your routine as protein deficiency can make hair feel fluffy and gummy.

What conditioner do I use for my leave-in?

All Jessicurl Conditioners are dual formulated for rinse-out and leave-in, so depending on your hair needs is how you will choose your leave-in. If you need protein, Aloeba Daily has a lighter touch of hydrolyzed oat protein than Too Shea! does. If you need moisture, Deep Conditioning Treatment is good to use.

Moisturizing but lightweight

Having low porosity hair, I usually think twice about product with Shea Butter. But this conditioner is VERY well formulated! It does not weight down my hair, doesn’t give me build up or protein overload. It is fantastic. In the picture I used the new clarifying shampoo followed by Too Shea!

Moisturizing but lightweight

I switch from Aloeba to Too Shea! during winter, as my hair gets drier due to the hot water and low winter dew point. The conditioner is not heavy. Even though it has protein, my low porosity hair does not get protein overload. I really like it.
