Frizz

by Chief Educator Claire

For most curlies or wavies, frizz is a word they don't want to be associated with their hair. However, frizz will always be a word within our textured world, but it doesn't have to be negative!

Remove unwanted frizz with the help of products and the steps below.

📌Curly Tip: Functional frizz should be embraced by using it to your advantage to create volume and texture! 🙌

DEFENSE

Protecting our hair from heat and external day-to-day factors such as weather can help make a massive difference in eliminating unwanted frizz. Adding a defense step into your routine, like a hot oil treatment, will give you a strong foundation.

CONDITION

A leave-in conditioner smoothes the rough cuticles responsible for frizzy, flyaway hair. A good leave-in is non-greasy, ensuring build-up never occurs so that you can use a generous amount. Leave-in conditioners should leave your hair feeling clean, shiny and soft.

TOOLS

Ensure the tools you use are only going to help keep your curls & waves looking their very best. Avoid anything that will rough up the hair cuticle during or after drying. Swap your cotton towel for a microfiber one.

SEAL

Lightweight oils are the perfect way to seal in moisture, preventing unwanted frizz from escaping. Along with a spritz of alcohol-free hairspray to finish.
