Volume

by Chief Educator Claire

Did you know VOLUME starts in the shower?!

Prepping your hair and scalp is just as important as the rest of your hair routine, although for some, it's not as satisfying as watching your wet hair transform into beautiful curls and waves, meaning this crucial step of your wash day is often rushed or not given much thought.

Keep these three simple check points in mind the next time you wash and see if your volume goes up a notch!

START AT THE ROOT

Like skin everywhere else on your body, the scalp can change due to hormones and external factors like weather,  so whether it needs removal of build-up or soothing, taking a moment to asses what it needs before hopping in the shower.

RINSE & REPEAT

Double shampoo to ensure you thoroughly cleanse your hair and then rinse, rinse, and rinse again. Not rinsing your shampoo properly risks residue being left on the hair which can leave your hair flat & dull.

PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR ENDS

Ensure you thoroughly cleanse the entire hair shaft by taking your cleanser down the full length of your hair.  Leaving leftover remnants of stylers anywhere on the hair will weigh the hair down and won't allow styling products to be absorbed and do their job correctly.
